Although you can't see it (and I wasn't able to photograph it due to regulations), there's a S. Korean flag on a 100m flagpole to the rear of me in the Peace Village. While that one was erected in celebration of the 1988 summer olympics, N. Korea is never one to be outdone and "retaliated" with the world's tallest flagpole - 160m.

Interestingly enough - Kijong-Dong - also known as propaganda village - is completely empty aside from the occasional wandering civilians during the day. As the tour guides have pointed out, at night you can see that many of the buildings are lit by a single light bulb at the upper levels and have no floors - which means you can see the light getting dimmer from the upper windows down to the bottom windows.
